Another black church was burned to the ground in the South - 20 years after the KKK last torched it amid growing fears of arson campaign

Mount Zion African Methodist Episcopal Church - A historically black church in South Carolina about 60 miles from the site of the Charleston shootings was partially destroyed after being burnt on Tuesday night.

Emergency workers and fire fighters from Williamsburg County responded to the 'heavy fire' around 9pm. Jason Hardy, a firefighter disclosed that the roof of the building had been 'burnt away' before workers could put out the blaze. He said that the exterior brick walls were the only thing left of the church.
Firefighters were able to extinguish the blaze by 11pm. No information was immediately available on whether anyone was inside the church when the fire started.

The Greeleyville church is at least the seventh predominantly black house of worship to be burnt since nine people were shot at Emanuel AME in Charleston, North Carolina earlier this month.
The Churches were burnt in Knoxville, Tennessee, Macon, Georgia, and Charlotte, North Carolina, with authorities looking into investigating them as possible hate crimes.
