The Cable has reported today that sacked 22 local government chairmen in Rivers state have been reinstated by the national industrial court sitting in Bayelsa state.

Last week Thursday, a federal high court sacked 22 local government chairmen in Rivers state as it accused the past administration of Rotimi Amaech for flouting a court order which had stopped the conduct of the election.
According to a new report by The Cable, National Industrial Court sitting in Bayelsa State today, has reinstated the sacked Local Government chairmen as the ruling directed the inspector-general of police to provide security for the chairmen.
The reinstated chairmen will take over from the caretaker chairmen appointed by the state governor, Nyesom Wike, following their sack.
Earlier reports said that the caretaker chairmen could not assume office as policemen lay siege by all the local government secretariats in the state.
