Several reactions have trailed the fraud allegations levelled against the wife of the Senate President, Toyin Saraki by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
According to The Nation, allies of Senate President, Bukola Saraki under the 'Like Minds' group have found the indictment surprising and suspicious.
Senator Dino Melaye on behalf of the group, in a statement has insisted that the action is politically-motivated or linked with the leadership tussle in the Senate.
The group stated that the decision of the EFCC to invite Mrs. Saraki created a lot of coincidences, which any discerning mind would not want to ignore.
“Though, we do not want to make any hasty conclusion, we are surprised that about five years after the Sarakis left Government House, Ilorin, the EFCC suddenly realised the need to invite the wife. We hope this is not part of the plot we have heard about aimed at wrestling the Senate president down with different tactics”, the group stated.
The event of her EFCC invitation is being closely monitored by the group to avoid victimization.
