Wike is So Jittery Over My Federal Connection - Amaechi Declares

Posted by Lolade on Tue 04th Aug, 2015 - tori.ng

Immediate past governor of Rivers State, Rotimi Amaechi has declared that the PDP led government in the state is in a state of panic over his connection at the federal level.

Following the ongoing wave of controversy sweeping through the nation's polity, former Governor of Rivers State, Rotimi Amaechi has accused the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) led government in the state of being jittery of his connection at the federal level.

According to him, the state government is afraid of the fact that the politics of the state will be controlled and determined by him if he was eventually considered for political appointment under President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration.

Amaechi said this in Abuja at the reception organised in his honour by his friends on Sunday Night in Abuja.

His position was corroborated by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo who at the event described the former Rivers State Governor as a dogged fighter who helped put the All Progressives Congress (APC) into power at the federal level.

Osinbajo said, the fight Amaechi mounted against the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) led Federal Government was instrumental in pushing the PDP out of power and giving the leeway for the APC to assume power at the federal level.

Amaechi explained that the PDP led government in Rivers State is carrying out a campaign of calumny against him in the bid to dissuade the president from considering him for political appointment.

“The current governor of Rivers State and PDP are afraid of me getting appointment at the national level, because that will determine the politics of Rivers State.

“They know that the current president abhors corruption and the only way to stop me from getting appointment is to paint that picture of corruption" Amaechi said.

The Immediate past Governor urged the people’s of Rivers State to stand up and defend him by telling the world the “truth” he stood for.
