Residents of Abeokuta, Ogun State, were stunned on Monday night, as scores of commercial sex workers staged a candlelight procession in honour of their colleagues, who were allegedly killed by suspected ritualists.

According to The Vanguard, no fewer than 50 commercial sex workers in Abeokuta, Ogun state held a candlelight procession on Monday night, 3rd of August in honour of two of their late colleagues that were killed by suspected ritualists over the weekend in the state.
The mourning prostitutes who were dressed in black visited the office of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, Oke-Ilewo, Abeokuta to lodge their complaints about the incessant cases of ritual killings in the state.
According to the wailing pleasure agents, one of the dead, who was simply identified as
Sitira, was found dead at a refuse dump site at Olomoore junction in Abeokuta on Sunday morning. The late Sitira was said to have been thrown off a moving Sport Utility Vehicle, SUV, along Abeokuta-Lagos Expressway. Apart from Sitira, another colleague of theirs was also killed with her mutilated body dumped in a ditch at Olomoore, Abeokuta.
The prostitutes proceeded to the for the MKO Abiola International Stadium, Kuto, Abeokuta, with candle sticks, where they continued their mourning. According to media reports, they cursed the killers of their dead colleagues and sang a common burial song in Yoruba language which went thus:
" Oro nla leda, oro nla leda, eyin tepa Titi, t’eje odagba, oro nla leda. Omo yin maku, eeeheee omo yin maku, eyin tepa Titi t’eje odagba, omo yin maku"
It means:
"You have done something grievous, you have done something grievous. The killers of Titi (Sitira) have done something grievous"
"Their children will die, their children will die, those that killed Titi will lose their children"
