Two Mississippi residents were arrested over the weekend on charges of conspiring to knowingly provide material support to a terrorist organization.

19-year old Jaelyn Young and her 22-year old husband, Muhammed Dakhlalla, were arrested at Golden Triangle Regional Airport in Mississippi, United States on Saturday and charged with 'attempting and conspiring to knowingly provide material support to a foreign terrorist organization.'
They allegedly planned to travel to Turkey where they would cross the border into Syria to join ISIS. The couple reportedly had an Islamic marriage for the purpose of travelling to Syria and used their honeymoon as a cover story.
Following their arrest, Young allegedly confessed to being the mastermind behind the plan. According to the criminal complaint, FBI agents made online contact with Young in May 2015 when she expressed a desire on Twitter to travel to Syria in support of ISIL and made several supportive statements of ISIL.
The criminal complaints also alleges that Young offered to assist the terrorist organization as a medic to the injured, while Dakhlalla told an agent he wanted to be a 'Mujahid Akhi' or holy warrior.
The two are former ‪ Mississippi State University‬ students. Dakhalla reportedly graduated in May with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and Young was enrolled as a sophomore chemistry major.
The couple were turned over to the custody of the U.S Marshals. If convicted, they face a maximum of 20 years in prison.
