Former Minister of Petroleum,Diezani Alison-Madueke's woes have been compounded following strong reports that National Crime Agency (NCA) in the United Kingdom has frozen her account to aid the trial and investigation procedures.

Reports from online news platform, SaharaReporters has revealed that the bank account of the embattled Mrs. Alison-Madueke has been frozen by the United Kingdom authorities.

On Friday October 2nd it was revealed that Mrs. Alison-Madueke was arrested by agents attached to the National Crime Agency (NCA) in the United Kingdom on offenses related to bribery, money laundering, and other financial crimes. After a lengthy interrogation she was released on bail along with four others connected to her arrest.

According to Sam Piranty, a BBC correspondent, the court and the NCA froze 27,000 Pounds Sterling belonging to Alison-Madueke.

A confidential source told the news platform revealed a total of five people are currently standing trial for financial crimes namely Diezani's mother, Beatrice Agama and one Melanie Spencer from Switzerland but not confirmed. The two others are yet to be confirmed.

Sources have said that there “were likely more arrests this weekend” of people connected to Alison-Madueke’s financial crimes.
