WAR! U.S. Criticises Iran's Missile Test

Posted by Thandiubani on Wed 14th Oct, 2015 - tori.ng

The U.S has criticized Iran for carrying out a ballistic missile test.

Iran has been criticized by the U.S over its ballistic missile testing it carried out during the weekend. White House spokesman, Josh Earnest at the weekend attacked Iran calling it a violation of UN resolution.

Earnest said that the incident was “altogether separate from the nuclear agreement that Iran reached with the rest of the world,” adding that the country had “demonstrated a track record” in adhering to the international community’s requests.

“We’ve got strong indications that those missile tests did violate a UN Security Council resolution,” He confirmed his country's intention to submit the case to the UN for consideration and review to establish any wrongdoing.

On Sunday, Iran confirmed the successful test-firing the mid-range surface-to-surface Emad assertiveness missile. According to Hossein Dehghan, Iran's Defence Minister, the Emad missile was developed and produced in Iran has a range of 2,000 kilometers better than the Shahab-3 model.

Meanwhile, Iran confirmed on Sunday that it had successfully test-fired the mid-range surface-to-surface Emad assertiveness missile. It was not confirmed where and when the test was carried out.

It will be recalled that in July, Iran reached a historic nuclear accord agreement called the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action signed between Iran and the U.S., Britain, France, Germany, Russia and China, bringing years of tension between Tehran and Western powers at ease after many years of suspicion that Iran's nuclear project was geared at producing nuclear bombs which Iran denied.
