Robbers Kill Lady, 3 Policemen in Rivers State

 

A 20-year-old girl and three policemen lost their lives when they were trailed and killed by armed robbers in Port Harcourt, Rivers state. Chilo Glory Nkpana and three other police men died when they were attacked by the robbers who trailed their vehicle before shooting them dead.

 

According to unconfirmed report, Nkpana and the three policemen were on their way to the bank to deposit a large sum of money when they were attacked by the robbers. Nkpana who works in a major beer distributor company was said to have been given bags of money by the boss to deposit at the bank when the incident happened. Even the three escort police men that was assigned to her could not prevent the robbery. The policemen were killed in the incident and the money carted away.

 

It was revealed by anonymous sources that the robbers who drove very close to Nkpana's vehicle, aimed and shot the three policemen first before aiming and shooting her dead. The driver sustained bullet wounds as he was spared by the robbers. Nkpana hails from Ndiogbuka Ihie in Ivo LGA of Ebonyi State.

 

The corpses of the dead were taken to the mortuary while the only survivor was taken to the hospital for treatment by the police who arrived the scene of the incident. The corpses of the diseased are yet to be released as police are yet to conclude investigation into the matter.

 

According to a family source, the robbery could have followed a tip-off to the robbers by the driver of the vehicle Nkpana and the policemen were riding. They are asking the police to ensure that no stone is left unturned in their investigation to ascertain what happened. 

 

“We were told that they were going to the bank when they were attacked by the robbers. We are sure that somebody informed the robbers about the movement. Even the police agreed that it was information and they will find out who did it,” the source said.

 

Investigation into the matter is ongoing.
