In Pictures: Peterside Jubilates in Abuja as Tribunal Sacks Wike as Rivers Governor

 

We reported it here today, October 24, that an Election Petition Tribunal sacked Nyesom Wike as the governor of Rivers state and ordered a fresh guber poll.

 

Dakuku Peterside, the gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress, filed the petition challenging the election of Wike as the Rivers state governor.

 

 

In its petition filed on May 3, Peterside and the APC urged the tribunal to nullify the election in the entire 23 LGA's of the state and order fresh one on the account of alleged substantial non-compliance.

 

 

As expected, Peterside and his supporters reacted with jubilation in Abuja, when the news spread about the tribunal’s ruling.
