Arsenal manager, Unai Emery, has made it clear there is no way back for Laurent Koscielny at the club.
Emery, speaking after their pre-season defeat to Real Madrid, insisted Koscielny will have to continue training with the under-23s, even when they return to London after their US tour.
It was a clear message to the Arsenal captain, who went on strike and refused to travel to the United States, after a bitter row over a new contract.
The Gunners are ready to sell the 33-year-old defender, when it leaves them short of defenders.
“I spoke about him with respect to him.
“I tried for him to be with us in the pre-season here and to continue working to find a solution between the club, between him and between us.
“When he decided not to stay with us here in the tour, the solution now is only for the club and him because he decided to be out of the team in pre-season.
“I respect him, but we have responsibility, he has his responsibility and the club has their responsibility and I have my responsibility. And now it is one issue only for the club and for him. My idea is continuing with the players we are working with and the players that want to be here,” Emery said.
Bordeaux are leading the chase for Koscielny and have offered him a three year deal.
