Alfredo Pacheco, El Salvador’s most capped footballer has been shot dead outside a petrol station. Pacheco was gunned down by a man outside the petrol station in Santa Ana.
Police say the man approached the 33-year-old and fired a number of shots. Two other people were injured following the attack.
The defender was El Salvador’s most capped footballer, playing 86 times for his country.
His death comes weeks after former
Honduran footballer Arnold Peralta was killed after being shot.
Police are now investigating a motive for the murder of Pacheco.
