The Rivers State Police Command declared that it has arrested no fewer than 162 suspected cultists, including four females, who were terrorising the state.
Also arrested were 27 armed robbery suspects and seven kidnappers.
Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Ahmad Muhammad, disclosed this to reporters on Tuesday, June 2. in Port Harcourt.
Muhammad said its anti-Cultist Unit station in Port Harcourt said some of the suspects were nabbed when security operatives stormed their hideout in various local communities across the state.
He said a kidnap victim, Ifeoma Amadi, was rescued at the early hours of Tuesday at her captors’ den along Ogbakiri waterfront in Emohua Local Government Area of the state.
Muhammad attributed the feats of the command to the tremendous support it has been receiving from “security conscious and patriotic citizens by way of volunteering credible and reliable information.”
