Nollywood actress, Iyabo Ojo has disclosed that when she was vocal about condemning Baba Ijesha for allegedly molesting the foster daughter of comedienne, Princess, over 30k people unfollowed her on photo-sharing app, Instagram.
The actress disclosed this in an Instagram live session on Thursday, adding that she also blocked many people who criticised her for defending the minor
“When I was fighting this Princess daughter’s battle a lot of things came to my mind a lot of people said ‘Iyabo you’re going to lose your endorsement people are going to unfollow you’. 30 something thousand people unfollowed me and I don’t care. People wanted me to be biased and I said I am not gonna be biased.
“I blocked over 10 thousand people then. The day I first got a call from UNICEF, that was the first confirmation for me that I was fighting a good battle,” she said.
During the controversy last year, Iyabo, who was the most vocal supporter of Princess whose foster child Baba Ijesha was caught on CCTV molesting, said the matter must not be swept under the carpet.
The actress along with Princess and other women staged a protest at the state criminal investigation department in Panti, Lagos on April 29 over media reports that the police wanted to release Baba Ijesha.
Baba Ijesha born Olarewaju James, is facing a six-count charge bordering on indecent treatment of a child, s3xual assault, attempted s3xual assault by penetration and s3xual assault by penetration.
