Alleged N80bn Fraud: Arresting Accountant General of Federation, Idris Not Enough – Ortom’s Aide, Akase

 

Terver Akase, Special Adviser, Media and Publicity to Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State has reacted to the arrest of the Accountant General of the Federation, Ahmed Idris on corruption charges.

 

Idris was arrested on Monday.

 

Reacting Akase said the government must make sure Idris is prosecuted.

 

Recall that operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, arrested Idris over an alleged N80 billion fraud.

 

EFCC’s spokesman, Wilson Uwajaren, had confirmed Idris’s arrest in a statement he issued Monday night.

 

Reacting, on Tuesday, Akase, a former governorship aspirant in Benue, said the suspect should be made to face comeuppance.

 

He wrote, “The fight against corruption should not begin and terminate with the mere arrest of suspects. We want to see culprits face comeuppance.
