Two Suspects Arrested In Gombe For Threatening Resident Of The State With Kidnap

The Gombe state police command has arrested a 22-year-old man identified as Mohammed Usman Gambo fromTudun-wadan Billiri LGA Gombe state alongside a  40-year-old Mohammed Idris from Tudunwada Billiri LGA of Gombe State, for threatening a resident of the state with kidnap.

They were arrested after one Kemuel Manzo, filed a complaint of receiving a phone call from an unknown GSM number on March 10, demanding a ransom of N30,000,000 or risk being kidnapped.

Gombe police commissioner directed the State Intelligence Bureau (SIB) to investigate the case. The number was tracked, and in the cause of investigation, one Amos Hamma was arrested, who later said that he bought the SIM from Mohammed Usman Gambo.

''OFFENCE: CRIMINAL INTIMIDATION AND ATTEMPT TO COMMIT AN OFFENCE TO WIT KIDNAPPING SUSPECTS:

Mohammed Usman Gambo ‘m’ aged 22yrs of Tudun-wadan BilliriLGA Gombe state Mohammed Idris ‘m’ aged 40yrs of Tudunwada Billiri LGA of Gombe State

On 10/03/22 at about 1154hrs based on complaint received by State Intelligence Bureau (SIB) by one Kemuel manzo ‘m’ aged 39yrs of tudun kwaya village Billiri LGA, Gombe State that on same date, he received a phone call from an unknown GSM number demanding a ransom of N30,000,000 thirty million naira or he will be kidnapped.

On Receipt of the complaint, the Commissioner of Police directed the SIB operatives to investigate the case, the number was tracked, however in the cause of investigation, Amos Hamma was arrested, who later said that he bought the SIM from the above mentioned suspect one Mohammed Usman Gambo ‘m’ aged 22yrs of Tudun kwaya village, Billiri LGA, who specialized in copying peoples information during SIM swap and used it to register new SIM for his Criminal purpose. ,case will be charged to court.''
