Shock As Man Visits Friend In Anambra, Kills Host’s 3-year-old Son

According to a report by SaharaReporters, a 34-year-old man identified as Onwele Anayo, on Thursday morning killed the 3-year-old son of his friend at Hillview Estate in Nkwelle-Ezunaka, Oyi Local Government Area of Anambra state.

Anayo was said to have visited the father of the deceased on Wednesday evening and spent the night with them. But early on Thursday morning, an argument ensued between him and his host, during which he (Anayo) took the child identified as Divine Eze and hit him on the floor several times, leading to his death.

The suspect who has been arrested by the police also reportedly took a knife and went after Divine’s father in an attempt to kill him too.

Confirming the incident in a statement made available to journalists, the state police spokesperson, DSP Tochukwu Ikenga said, “The Anambra State Police Operatives have today 16/6/2022 arrested one Mr Onwele Anayo ‘M’ aged 34 years on the murder of Divine Eze ‘M’ aged 3 yrs residing in Hillview Estate, Nkwelle -Ezunaka.

“Preliminary information shows that the suspect visited the father of the victim yesterday 15/6/2022 and spent the night in the victim’s house. In the early hours of today 16/6/2022, an argument ensued between the father and the suspect.

“The suspect (Mr Anayo) took the child (Divine) as he was sleeping and killed him, by hitting him on the floor several times. Mr Anayo carried a knife from the room, and pursued the father around the house, threatening to kill him. 

“Police operatives have visited the scene and recovered the body of the child and an investigation is ongoing. Further development will be communicated please.”
