A 33-year-old wanted drug dealer, Mahdi Salisu has been arrested in Jigawa State.
He was nabbed by the police in the Taura local government area of the state.
This was contained in a press statement signed by the police spokesman, DSP Lawan Shiisu Adam issued to DAILY POST.
He said the arrest followed the raid of criminal hideouts across the state.
DAILY POST had reported that the state Commissioner of Police had directed all divisional officers to embark on a raid of criminal hideouts twice every week.
He said, “based on intelligence, police succeeded in the arrest of a drug dealer, one Mahdi Salisu at Bakin Kasuwa black spot in Taura town in possession of one hundred and two (102) wraps and some quantity (in black nylon) of dry leaves suspected to be Indian Hemp as an exhibit.
Shiisu added that his arrest also led to the arrest of nine other suspects.
He noted that all the suspects will be charged to court after investigation to face the full weight of the law.
The Commissioner of Police, Jigawa State Police Command, CP Aliyu Sale Tafida warned that raids on criminal hideouts and black spots will continue throughout the state.
