Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar has asked Nigerians not happy that he deleted a tweet condemning the murder of Deborah Samuel to express their anger on election day.
Atiku made the submission on Thursday through the spokesman of the Atiku Abubakar Presidential Campaign Council, Daniel Bwala.
Deborah, a Christian girl was brutally murdered by Muslim fanatics over allegations of defamation.
She was beaten and burnt to death in May 2022 by her colleagues at Shehu Shagari College of Education in Sokoto State.
Speaking about the matter on Tuesday during an interview appearance on the Morning Show by Arise TV, Bwala said Atiku has explained his action to Nigerians.
He added that it will be proven at the polls in 2023 if the people of the country are satisfied with the explanation or not.
The presidential campaign spokesperson was responding to a question on why Atiku deleted his tweet.
In response, he said; “If Nigerians are not satisfied [with Atiku’s explanations on why he deleted his tweet on the killing of Deborah Samuel] they will express that at the polls.”
