A young Nigerian man identified as Raphael Bassey Williams has been jailed.

He was sentenced to one year imprisonment by Justice Suleiman Baba Namalam of the Kano State High Court for fraud.

Williams attempted to defraud a Kuwaiti citizen, Bader Mubaraq by representing himself as a female American citizen looking for a husband.

Williams pleaded guilty to the one count charge when it was read to him.
