Leave Obi Alone, Face Your Partner In Foul Language, APC – LP Blasts Dino Melaye, PDP

Posted by Thandiubani on Tue 08th Nov, 2022 - tori.ng

the LP campaign council was reacting to a statement made by the spokesman of the PDP campaign council, Dino Melaye, that Obi is a regional candidate.

The Labour Party (LP) Presidential Campaign Council has blasted the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for attacking its presidential candidate, Peter Obi.

Obi had called out Melaye during the presidential debate for harassing him after he was heard in the background when a participant was called to ask question saying 'na Peter Obi people'.

Following the incident Melaye called Obi is a regional candidate.

According to the former Kogi West Senator, there is no regional champion that has ever been President of the country.

Reacting in a chat with Leadership on Monday, the chief spokesman for the LP campaign council, Yunusa Tanko, said Obi is a Pan-Nigerian candidate and not a regional flagbearer.

Yunusa stated that the LP candidate is the darling of Nigerian youths nationwide, and has strong supporters in all geopolitical zones of the country unlike Atiku is without a base.

He said, “Obi is a Pan-Nigerian candidate; unlike Atiku who is the proverbial bat without a base. Obi is today the darling of Nigerian youths nationwide and has strong supporters in all geopolitical zones – North, West, and West.

“The Nigerian patriots I know will surely reward Obi with votes for transforming the imagination of our youths from despair, despondency, and hopelessness to a hopeful and prosperous country.”

Speaking further, Tanko appreciated Melaye for acknowledging Obi’s character, competence, and strong health.

He, however, appealed to PDP Campaign Council to leave Obi alone and face APC, their partners in a foul language campaign.

He said, “Obi has sworn not to use foul and intemperate language on any presidential candidate no matter the provocation; instead his focus is on how best to transform the country from consumption to production.”
