9-year old American schoolboy lost his life in the course of trying to save his 31-year old mom whose SUV car was trapped in a pond after an accident.
A hero American boy named Ronaldo Alanis-Ramirez in Illinois has given up the ghost days after he desperately tried to save his doomed mom from an SUV submerged in a retention pond, police in Aurora said.
The handsome young boy talked his 7-year old sister into the rescue operation. Unfortunately, they both ended up being trapped in the SUV. His sister was immediately rescued while he spend extra 30 mins in the water.
Ronaldo died just before noon Sunday at a Park Ridge Hospital, police said. His mother, 31-year-old Maria Ramirez, spent 40 minutes under water before her rescue and died Saturday about 11 p.m., said police in Aurora, some 40 miles west of Chicago.
The deceased boy's school principal said sweet things about his family.
Maria Ramirez, their mother was remembered as a loving mom to her two children, while the boy was mourned by classmates and teachers who miss his warm personality and love of soccer.
“He will forever be remembered as a hero. His last actions on earth were to save his little sister and his attempt also save his mom,” friends of the family wrote on a fund-raising site that has since raised nearly $3,000 in donations.
