Nigerian singer Spyro has opened up in a vulnerable post about the challenges he encounters while striving to live according to his Christian faith.
According to him, it is easy for people to claim they love God when they don’t have much, but the real test comes when wealth and options arrive.
Spyro revealed that in the last two years, when he began to earn more and could afford certain lifestyles, he faced his biggest temptations. He said he has had to turn down endorsement deals worth millions of naira because they went against his faith, describing them as “Antichrist.”
The singer added that he often sponsors his shows himself because many brands shy away from supporting what he calls “the Jesus brand.”
Spyro also admitted that the hardest part is facing criticism, sometimes from fellow Christians who should be his support system.
