Nigerian singer Peter Okoye, popularly known as Mr P, has responded to reports that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) lacks evidence to support his claim that his brothers, Jude Okoye and Paul Okoye of the defunct P-Square group, fraudulently withdrew $800,000 from their joint company account during their time working together.

Recall that the allegation stems from a 2024 petition by Peter Okoye, who accused Jude and Paul of diverting funds and secretly operating 47 undisclosed bank accounts while manipulating the shareholding structure of Northside Entertainment Ltd.

Following the petition, the commission filed financial misconduct charges against Jude, linking them to the management of the P-Square brand.

Under cross-examination, EFCC counsel, M.K. Bashir, told Justice Rahman Oshodi that the commission could not produce proof for the alleged $800,000 withdrawal.

Pressed by the court to substantiate the claim, Bashir replied: “We do not have it. It is his evidence. Let him prove it. I can’t give what I don’t have.”

He further denied holding proof of the alleged 47 bank accounts, adding, “It is one of the witness’s claims, but I do not have such a copy.”

Reacting via his social media handle, Peter described the report as jokes and propaganda.

According to him, there was never a court session in which the EFCC investigator made this claim.

He wrote, “Joke and propaganda. Again, pushing false narratives to the media about a court session that never happened, all to make me look bad? Social media no be judge.”
