She Couldn’t Open Her Eyes For Weeks – Omije Ojumi’s Close Friend Reveals Singer’s Final Moments (Video)

Fresh details have surfaced about the final moments of Nigerian gospel singer Bunmi Akinnaanu, widely known as Omije Ojumi, who died at a Lagos hospital.

A close friend and colleague, Lanre Alewilese, has shared what the singer went through before she passed on.

In a viral video, he explained that in the weeks before her death, Omije Ojumi could neither open her eyes nor speak, showing how serious her condition had become.

According to him, watching her suffer was deeply painful.

Alewilese said he chose not to make her health issues public while she was alive.

He explained that there was no good news to share at the time and that informing the public would only have caused fear and worry without offering any hope.

He added that her struggle was difficult to witness, and keeping it private was his way of protecting both her dignity and her fans.

Speaking in Yoruba, he said in part: “…In the final weeks leading up to Omije Ojumi’s death, she was unable to open her eyes or speak for weeks. I intentionally kept her condition a secret from the public because there was no positive update. I didn’t want to worry anyone unnecessarily.
