What My Daughter Told Me Before She D!ed – Late Singer, Ifunanya Nwangene's Father Reveals

The father of late Nigerian singer Ifunanya Nwangene, who was popularly known as Nanyah, has recounted the heartbreaking words his daughter spoke moments before she d!ed after suffering a snakebite.

Tori News reports that Nanyah, 26, d!ed after being bitten by a snake in her home while she was asleep.

After noticing the bite, she began searching for medical help and was taken to different hospitals for treatment, but she did not survive.

Speaking during an interview with BBC Igbo, her father, Christopher Nwangene, explained how the tragic incident unfolded.

He said his daughter called him around 9:15 am to inform him that a snake had bitten her.

He said he immediately became worried and started asking her questions about where she was and what doctors were doing to treat her.

According to him, she first went to a hospital where she was told that there was no anti-venom available.

She later tried another hospital but was given the same response.

After some time, she was advised to go to the Federal Medical Centre, where she was told the needed medication was available.

She reportedly went there in an Uber. Her father said he contacted his brother and asked him to go to the hospital to be with her.

When his brother arrived, he met her seated with a drip attached to her hand as treatment was ongoing. A few minutes later, he called her again.

During the call, she told him that she could not breathe. When he asked what was happening, she said she did not know.

Those words were the last he heard from his daughter before she d!ed.

He said, “She called me around 9:15am to tell me she had been bitten by a snake. I immediately asked her where she was and what the doctors were saying about her condition.

"I quickly contacted my brother and asked him to rush to the hospital. A few minutes later, I called her again. She told me, ‘Daddy, I cannot breathe.’ When I asked her what was happening, she said, ‘I don’t know.’”
