Dorcas Shola Fapson, popularly known as Ms DSF, has weighed in on the ongoing Mirabel controversy, sharing her perspective on the matter.
The saga began when Mirabel, a TikTok user with the handle @mirab351, posted videos alleging that she was sexually assaulted in her apartment in Ogijo, Ogun State.
The posts quickly went viral on social media, trending under hashtags like #StopRapingWomen, and triggered widespread calls for justice.
Authorities later confirmed that Mirabel was not arrested. She voluntarily reported the incident and was taken to a hospital for evaluation. The Ogun State Police said the matter is still under investigation, with evidence being examined to determine the truth.
The case took a turn when Mirabel retracted her claims, admitting in a viral audio that parts of her story were false and apologising to the public.
Her retraction has prompted police to plan legal action against her for providing false information once she is discharged from medical care.
Reacting to the incident, Ms Dsf said she initially doubted the story and suggested that the TikToker might have mental health challenges requiring attention and proper handling.
She wrote: “Honestly, when i initially saw the video, & “DM” I didn’t believe it. Call it discernment, but something was very off.
"I genuinely think she has mental health problems & should be penalised & treated as such.”
