Nigerian businessman Isaac Fayose has stated that former Kaduna State governor Nasir El-Rufai merits the treatment he is receiving from the Bola Tinubu-led Federal Government.
The former governor is being probed over an alleged N432 billion corruption scandal linked to his administration.
In a Facebook post on Wednesday, Isaac Fayose said he declined to join a protest aimed at calling for El-Rufai’s release, saying the former governor “deserves all he gets”.
He alleged that El-Rufai, during his administration, turned Kaduna State into a ‘Muslim state’ by marginalizing Christians.
According to him, prior to El-Rufai’s administration, his predecessors ceded the deputy governorship position to Christians but he (El-Rufai) “scattered everything”.
He also declared that he will never join the African Democratic Congress, ADC, a party housing the coalition of opposition leaders including El-Rufai.
The businessman, however, said he is a staunch supporter of the 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi.
He said, “El-Rufai turned Kaduna into a Muslim Muslim state, the Christians became vulnerable. I’m not and will never be a member of ADC.
“I belong only to the ‘Nigerian Party’ I go for what is good for Nigerians. The only candidate I like is Peter Obi.”
