JAMB Delays Result Slip Printing as Candidates Left Waiting for 2026 UTME Updates

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has announced a delay in the release of the portal for printing 2026 UTME original result slips, urging candidates to remain patient as key processes are still being finalized.

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has asked candidates to exercise patience as the portal for printing 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination original result slips has not yet been made available.

JAMB spokesperson Fabian Benjamin communicated this in an official statement released on Tuesday.

The board explained that the hold-up stems from the recent conclusion of foreign examinations and ongoing preparations for a mop-up examination scheduled for candidates who were unable to sit for the main exam due to circumstances beyond their control.

JAMB further clarified that because the UTME is a ranking examination, the original result slips contain candidates' rankings, meaning all related processes must be fully completed before the slips can be made available for printing.

The board assured candidates that the printing portal would be activated once all necessary adjustments had been finalised, and promised to notify candidates promptly when the time comes.

JAMB also apologised for the inconvenience and appealed for understanding from both candidates and other stakeholders.

The delay has caused frustration among many candidates, who have taken to social media to express concern, noting that access to their scores is needed for post-UTME preparations, university admission processes, and decisions around changing courses or institutions.

In the meantime, JAMB had previously made it possible for candidates to check their results via SMS using their registered phone numbers.

This development comes on the heels of the board setting 150 as the minimum cut-off mark for university admission in 2026.
