Crisis rocks the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Benue State as tension, violence and controversy surround the party's primary election process!
Trouble broke out across parts of Benue South as angry youths stormed the office of Samson Okwu, accusing him of allegedly colluding with Tiv political interests to shut out the Idoma bloc from the party's governorship ticket ahead of the 2027 elections.
Protesters took to the streets with placards and solidarity songs, demanding that Benue South be given a fair chance to produce the party's governorship candidate.
Adding fuel to the fire, ADC National Chairman David Mark has remained completely silent amid the growing crisis, a move that has only deepened suspicion and frustration among party supporters across the state. 👀
Things took an even darker turn in Okpokwu Local Government Area, where reports emerged that the local ADC chairman was allegedly kidnapped by unknown persons.
In response, heavily armed police officers moved in to take over the party secretariat in Okpoga in a bid to prevent further breakdown of law and order, as panic spread among residents and party members.
To make matters worse, chieftain Ejembi Adaje has called for the outright cancellation of the party's primary election in Enone, alleging widespread irregularities and insisting the process did not reflect the will of genuine party members.
