While many children of Nigerian politicians tend to stay out of the public eye, Ozonna Soludo, the eldest son of Anambra State Governor Charles Soludo and popularly known to fans as "Baby Oku," has taken a markedly different route.
Recognised for his shirtless dance clips, unconventional fashion choices, budding music career and outspoken personality, Ozonna has cultivated a social media presence that frequently draws as much public interest as his father's political career does.
Boasting more than 100,000 followers on Instagram, the singer, entrepreneur and fashion enthusiast regularly posts dance videos, music teasers and lifestyle content that spark discussion among both admirers and detractors.
He was recently thrust back into public conversation after sharing a video of himself dancing to a trending protest song that criticises President Bola Tinubu's administration.
In the clip, Ozonna wore a campaign-branded shirt linked to his father while moving to lyrics that took aim at the Tinubu government and, at certain points, referenced Governor Soludo himself.
Part of the lyrics read: "Tinubu, shame onto you, all power belongs to Jesus."
The video spread rapidly online, generating a mix of reactions from Nigerians.
Although many people first became aware of him because of his father's political standing, Ozonna has consistently worked to position himself as an entertainer in his own right rather than a political figure.
He made a return to music in 2023 with the release of his single, Take It Slow, which reignited public interest in his artistic pursuits.
Outside of music, he has also branched into entrepreneurship through his bead and jewellery line, producing handcrafted necklaces and accessories that regularly appear in his social media content.
His pages further feature high-energy dance videos, comedic clips and personal expression that connect strongly with younger audiences.
His distinctive style frequently appearing without a shirt, sporting striking hairstyles and embracing daring fashion choices has made him one of the most easily recognised offspring of a Nigerian politician on social media.
Ozonna has never hesitated to respond to criticism directed at his appearance and lifestyle choices. In a video that circulated widely in 2025, he pushed back against online critics who questioned his dress sense, way of life and the kind of content he shares, saying: "I like myself, I like what I like. I am not here to suit your ego.
I am not here to live according to your standard. The next time you write a paragraph or an essay about my life, maybe think about your life. I actually accept myself.
I love and accept me. I put out what I like on my social media. I am not going to stop liking what I like."
In July 2025, followers got a rare look into his relationship with his father when Governor Soludo joined him for a dance challenge promoting his single, Big Flex.
Dressed in matching traditional beads, father and son danced together in a video that quickly went viral, drawing widespread praise and revealing a lighter, more playful side of the governor that is seldom seen in political circles.
Despite his father's prominent political role, Ozonna has repeatedly made clear that his personal opinions should not be taken as reflective of Soludo's own views.
In the lead-up to the 2023 general election, after being drawn into online political debates, he publicly distanced himself from partisan discourse, stating: "I would appreciate not being dragged into this.
I am not an extension of anybody. I have my own opinions and have always said I think Peter is the best candidate. All this has nothing to do with me."
The remark attracted considerable attention at the time, as it highlighted his insistence on keeping his personal views separate from his father's political office.
Ozonna was born on February 11, 1994, in Isuofia, in the Aguata Local Government Area of Anambra State, and is the eldest of six children.
He spent a portion of his early years in the United States before moving to London, where he pursued studies in Vocal Performance at the Institute of Contemporary Music Performance.
Whether he is dancing to a viral track, dropping new music, promoting his jewellery brand or firing back at online critics, Ozonna has built a public identity that goes well beyond simply being known as a governor's son.
