Two Ondo Farmers Abducted as Security Forces Launch Forest Rescue Operation

t3rrorists have abd*cted two farmers in Ifira, an agrarian community in Akoko South-East Local Government Area of Ondo State, sparking concerns among residents as security agencies intensify efforts to rescue the victims.

The victims were reportedly att@cked while heading to their farms, with the assailants ambushing them and taking them into a nearby forest area.

A family member of one of the abducted farmers said the incident had been reported to the police and the Ondo State Security Network Agency, known as Amotekun, as the family seeks urgent intervention for their safe release.

According to the source, the t3rrorists have established contact with the victims' families and demanded ₦10 million r@nsom for their release.

The family member said they had reported the incident to the police and the Amotekun Corps in their area, appealing to security agencies and the government to help rescue their relatives unharmed.

Abayomi said a joint security team comprising personnel of the Nigeria Police Force, the Nigerian Army, Amotekun Corps, local hunters, Agbekoya operatives and community volunteers had been deployed to the Oke-Ifira/Idogun forest axis to search for the victims.

He, however, said the command was not aware of any r@nsom demand in connection with the incident, adding that security personnel were deploying intelligence and operational resources to locate the victims and apprehend those responsible.

The police spokesperson appealed to members of the public with credible information to assist ongoing rescue efforts, assuring residents that the command remains committed to securing the safe return of the farmers and maintaining peace in the affected community.
