Timini Egbuson Admits He Borrowed Money to Maintain Luxury Lifestyle

Actor Timini Egbuson of Nollywood has disclosed that he once took out loans to support his extravagant lifestyle before giving it up.

Speaking on a recent episode of the MENtality podcast, Egbuson claimed that although he used to spend a lot on fashion and general maintenance, he eventually came to the realization that true happiness was more important than the pressure to always buy and display the newest luxury goods on the internet.

He noted that the money he spent building a perfume collection of about 150 pieces could have been better invested in buying land.

He explained that there would always be a newer watch or a newer car to chase, and urged people to reflect on whether they pursue such things for themselves or simply due to peer pressure, and whether they would still be happy without them.

He added that even during periods when he was broke, his energy remained the same because he had learned to find contentment with whatever he had.

Egbuson said he always tries to remind those who follow him that life comes with both good and bad days, and that dwelling on the bad days to the point of being unable to show up or create content amounts to living a lie, one he questioned how long anyone could sustain.

He admitted that he used to live a fake life and borrow money to impress people, but stressed that this is no longer the case.
