The Ondo State Security Network Agency successfully rescued two Fulani herders who were k!dn@pped by suspected abductors operating within a forest along the Ondo–Edo State boundary on Tuesday.

The victims, identified as Abubakar Umaru and Abdullahi Umaru, were reportedly taken whilst herding cattle in the Owo area and transported into forested terrain.

The agency's Commander stated that operatives launched response operations after the boys' parents reported their failure to return home with their livestock.

Initial efforts focused on livestock recovery, after which personnel conducted forest searches across the boundary region linking Ondo to Edo, eventually locating an area designated as the @bductors' operational hideout.

When security operatives encircled the location, the suspected kidnappers abandoned the site and fled.

The Commander emphasised that the agency's intervention underscores its commitment to protecting all residents irrespective of ethnic or cultural background.

He noted that the security outfit maintains no discriminatory posture and treats criminal conduct uniformly regardless of perpetrator origin, whether Yoruba, Igbo, Hausa, or Fulani.

The Commander commended community members whose timely intelligence contributions facilitated the successful operation.

This rescue operation represents one instance within a broader pattern of the agency's security interventions.

In July 2026, personnel apprehended a 56-year-old individual and his three adult sons in connection with the k!dn@pping of a resident in Akoko South-West Local Government Area.
