Troops from Sector 1 of Operation ENDURING PEACE (OPEP) have successfully rescued two victims kidn@pped by armed criminals in Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State.
The victims, Samson Chiroma and Nathaniel Nwase, were abducted approximately 11:00 p.m. on August 9 whilst travelling to their residence at ECWA Staff Quarters in Jos North.
Following receipt of a distress alert, troops coordinated with members of the Vigilante Group of Nigeria initiated immediate pursuit operations.
Security forces established contact with the kidn@ppers, who, confronted with superior firepower, abandoned their captives and fled toward surrounding mountainous terrain.
Both victims were recovered safely without injury and subsequently reunited with their families.
The criminals escaped with personal property belonging to the victims, including a laptop and two mobile phones.
Security forces have maintained active pursuit operations targeting the fleeing perpetrators, with ongoing efforts directed toward tracking and apprehending those responsible.
The operation demonstrates sustained coordination between military and local vigilante organisations in responding to kidn@pping incidents and safeguarding residents within vulnerable communities across Plateau State.
