The Executive Chairman of the Nigeria Revenue Service, Zacch Adedeji, has rejected assertions that President Bola Tinubu maintains an opulent personal lifestyle, contending instead that the nation's leader habitually commutes to his office on foot and limits his daily meals to a single occasion.

During a television interview, Adedeji addressed escalating public questioning concerning state spending and official lifestyle choices amid prevailing economic hardship.

Adedeji characterised the President's daily schedule as dominated by substantial work obligations rather than luxury consumption or social engagements.

He stated that Tinubu travels between his residence and office on foot, refraining from vehicular transportation except when travelling to the airport.

Responding to inquiries regarding armoured luxury vehicles including Cadillac Escalades maintained within presidential security details, Adedeji argued that access to appropriate official transportation constitutes standard presidential operational necessity rather than personal indulgence, urging observers not to misinterpret standard governmental tools as manifestations of personal excess.

Adedeji referenced the President's operational tempo, emphasising that Tinubu maintains continuous presence within the country over successive months executing policy assessments and administrative oversight.

He noted that the President infrequently participates in social occasions or recreational intervals, characterising such restraint as reflective of governance dedication rather than material self-indulgence.
