Motorists experienced slow-moving traffic on the Gbagada Expressway in Lagos on Thursday following two separate accidents.

One involved two major trucks whilst another involved two trailers and five vehicles, disrupting traffic flow on the busy corridor.

Heavy vehicle build-up was observed as officials of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority, alongside tow trucks and a forklift, worked to clear wreckage.

By the time of reporting, one truck from the major accident had been successfully removed whilst efforts continued on the second.

A second accident scene further along the expressway near Charlie Boy also drew LASTMA response.

The five vehicles caught in that crash were evacuated, with a tow truck working to remove the two trailers blocking the road.

The General Manager of LASTMA said the agency had been on ground since 5am restoring normalcy to the expressway.

A forklift, two tow trucks and an arranged crane were deployed to complete operations.

On the secondary accident near Charlie Boy involving two trailers and five vehicles, he noted that all five vehicles had been evacuated with a tow truck removing the trailers from the road.
