Chief Joseph Ebere Ezeokafor, proprietor of Jezco Group of Companies and father of social media personality Jowi Zaza, returned to his Ekwulobia hometown in Aguata Local Government Area of Anambra State on Monday, where he received an enthusiastic reception from residents.
Ezeokafor regained freedom on Friday night after nearly two weeks in the custody of his abductors.
Video documentation of his homecoming, circulated on social media, depicted community women converging upon his residential compound upon learning of his return, with numerous individuals taking turns embracing the businessman.
Some women were recorded prostrating whilst expressing gratitude for his safe restoration.
The Anambra State Police Command confirmed on Saturday the liberation of Ezeokafor and a member of a religious community who had been abduct£d by armed individuals at Ifite-Awka.
According to the command, both victims had safely returned whilst security agencies undertaken measures to establish circumstances surrounding their release and compile information assisting ongoing investigations.
Ezeokafor, a septuagenarian businessman, had been abduct£d in the predawn hours of Tuesday whilst reportedly proceeding to a prayer location in Awka.
