Afrobeats musician Davido was filmed having a playful moment with Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, joking that he had beaten him.
The exchange happened on Thursday when Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke visited Wike in Abuja.
In the video, Davido stood in brown traditional clothing and repeatedly told Wike, "I won.
I beat you guys." Wike, sitting down in a white shirt, kept responding with "No, no" while smiling.
Davido kept insisting he had won.
As the banter went on, people around them laughed and encouraged him.
The playful exchange ended with Davido bowing down in respect to Wike before hugging him, which drew cheers and more laughter from everyone watching.
People online have connected the exchange to the August 15 governorship election in Osun State, where Davido's uncle, Governor Adeleke, won re-election on the Accord Party ticket with 511,067 votes.
His main opponent from the ruling party received 444,815 votes.
Adeleke took 19 out of 30 local government areas in the state.
The video drew mixed reactions on social media.
Some people commented on Davido's apparent playful respect toward Wike, while others criticized him for being friendly with someone from the political side he had strongly opposed before the election.
During the campaign, Davido actively supported his uncle and repeatedly attacked the ruling party on social media, accusing them of using federal power unfairly.
He even wrote to the US President expressing worry about possible violence during the election.
He also publicly said he would never join the ruling party.
Since the election, Wike has said that Adeleke won because the President allowed the election to be free and fair.
He dismissed suggestions that the federal government interfered and argued that the President let democracy work as it should.
