Actress Mo Bimpe has spoken out after facing criticism for opening up about being left out of baby showers, children's birthday parties, and other child-focused events because she didn't have kids of her own.

The new mother of triplets posted a response online, on Tuesday, saying she wanted to tell her own story rather than let others do it for her.

She explained that her experience taught her an important lesson: you cannot assume kindness from people.

Bimpe said she has been flooded with messages from other women facing the same thing, and reading about their struggles has been heartbreaking.

She is calling on everyone to be more thoughtful and welcoming.

Her main message is simple: invite people to gatherings and let them decide whether they want to come.

Don't assume what they can or cannot handle.

Show compassion instead.

Not everyone's struggles are visible, but choosing to be kind and inclusive costs nothing.

In her post, Bimpe wrote that everyone deserves the right to tell their own story.

She urged people to stop deciding for others what they can handle and instead give them the choice.

She hopes that anyone going through a difficult time will never question whether they belong in the room.
