Okpebholo Swears In 4 Edo Boards With Strong Warning to Appointees

Edo State Governor Monday Okpebholo has inaugurated four government bodies and charged their members to carry out their responsibilities with integrity, humility and genuine commitment to public service.

The inaugurated bodies are the Edo State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board, Consumer Protection Committee and Edo State Rural Access Roads Agency.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony at the Government House in Benin City on Thursday, Okpebholo stressed that the appointments placed a duty on the appointees to serve the people of the state diligently.

He reminded them that their responsibilities extended beyond obligations to the state and its residents to encompass a responsibility before God.

The governor urged appointees to discharge their duties with integrity, dedication and humility, with the interests of Edo residents taking priority over personal considerations.

Okpebholo called on the members to work together in unity and ensure their decisions and actions produced meaningful results that created lasting positive impact for the people.

He prayed for wisdom, strength and grace to guide them as they carried out their assigned mandates.

The Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board chairman, Very Rev. Fr. Alfred Aronegbe Agbonlahor, thanked the governor for the confidence shown in the members and pledged the board would work diligently to promote the interests and welfare of Christian pilgrims in the state.

The Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board Chairman, Mallam Musa Muhammad Uduimoh, also thanked the governor for the opportunity to serve and commended the administration's commitment to pilgrim welfare.

He assured the board would support government efforts in ensuring efficient, transparent and satisfactory services for intending pilgrims.

The Consumer Protection Committee Chairman, Iyamu Osaro, commended the governor for constituting the committee and pledged the members' commitment to protecting consumers and promoting fairness and accountability in commercial activities across the state.

Momodu Oghenakhoghie Goodluck was sworn in as Director-General of the Edo State Rural Access Roads Agency.

The event was attended by Deputy Governor Dennis Idahosa, Secretary to the State Government Umar Musa Ikhilor, Chief of Staff Yakubu Musa and other government officials and dignitaries.
