Delta Police Recover Homemade Gun, Arrest Suspected Drug Dealer In Separate Operations

Police in Delta State have seized a homemade gun, confiscated illegal drugs, and arrested a 40-year-old suspected drug dealer during separate operations in Effurun and Agbor.

Command spokesman SP Bright Edafe reported that the gun was recovered early on September 4 in the Charlisco area of Effurun.

 

Two masked men broke into a 48-year-old man's home around 5:30 am.

 

The homeowner fought back, wrestling with the intruder holding the homemade shotgun until the weapon snapped.

 

The second break-in suspect hit the homeowner on the forehead before both fled, leaving the broken gun behind.

 

Police officers rushed to the scene, took the injured victim to the hospital, and recovered the broken firearm.

 

A manhunt is underway for the suspects.

In a second operation on September 6 in Agbor, anti-kidnapping operatives raided a home in Agbor-Obi around 5:00 am following a tip-off.

 

Officers arrested 40-year-old Joy Anthony and seized a stash of illegal drugs, including Tramadol, Codeine, Swinol, "Canadian Loud," and cannabis.

 

She remains in police custody as investigations continue.

Delta State Police Commissioner Samuel Erale praised the brave homeowner for standing up to the intruders and urged the public to keep sharing reliable information to help fight crime.
