The Yobe State House of Assembly has screened and approved Mallam Dauda Alhaji Idi and Dr. Abubakar Bukar Kagu as members of the State Executive Council.
Both nominees appeared before lawmakers on Wednesday and answered questions about their qualifications, experience and ability to serve the state.
They were confirmed after the House was satisfied with their responses.
The Speaker of the House said the two men were approved because of their professional skills, strong integrity and long experience in public service and government positions within the state.
He praised Governor Mai Mala Buni for nominating worthy people to fill empty positions on the executive council.
The Speaker urged the newly confirmed commissioners to work hard and show that the government and people of Yobe made the right choice in choosing them.
In a separate matter, the House moved forward with a bill to change the law that set up the Yobe State Universal Basic Education Board.
The bill passed its second reading and was sent to the House Committee on Basic and Secondary Education for the next step in the legislative process.
