Atiku Camp Makes Bold 2027 Prediction as Okonkwo Targets 22 States

Kenneth Okonkwo, Atiku Abubakar's campaign spokesperson, has projected that the former Vice President will win all 19 northern states and three Southwest states in the 2027 presidential election.

Speaking on a television program on Monday, Okonkwo said support for Atiku's African Democratic Congress party has solidified across the North.

He attributed this to growing frustration with President Tinubu's economic policies, particularly the minimum wage of 70,000 naira and fuel prices climbing near 1,500 naira.

These conditions make it nearly impossible for workers to afford even basic necessities like petrol without sacrificing rent or food.

Okonkwo also predicted the opposition would gain ground in the South-South region because Atiku's running mate hails from there, and voters would want their own son as vice president.

He said the opposition would win more than two states and score above 25 per cent in all South-South states.

In the Southwest, Okonkwo identified Osun, Ondo and Ogun as likely opposition wins. He pointed to internal crises within the ruling APC in Ondo and Ogun as factors that could benefit the opposition.

He also claimed that President Tinubu lacks strong popularity in Lagos, his political base.
