U.S. Warns Citizens Against Kenya Travel Over Ebola Outbreak

The United States has raised its travel warning for Kenya to Level 3, which means Americans should reconsider going there.

The move came after Kenya reported its eighth Ebola case.

The US embassy in Kenya said the risk to health is the main reason.

It also pointed to crime, kidnapping, terrorism, unrest and road safety.

Kenya had its first Ebola case in early October.

The patient was a businessman in his forties who lived in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

He travelled by car and plane through Uganda to Kenya and died in Nairobi.

Seven more people have since tested positive.

Most of them are relatives of the first patient, along with health workers and a member of the medical support staff who cared for him.

The health ministry says they are in quarantine and doing fine.

Officials have traced 128 of the 130 people who had contact with the first patient.

All of them are in quarantine.

The outbreak is much bigger in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

It has killed more than 4,000 people since May, and there have been over 9,000 cases.
