A young couple have been allegedly murdered in the now popular honour killings in India for falling in love with a man that did not get the approval of her family.

Murdered couple, Basavaraj and Kasturi

Just like it happens in the Indian movies, fresh round of honour killings have been uncovered in Hanchinahal village in Koppal district of South India.

A 24 year old woman and her 28 year old lover were allegedly murdered by the woman's brothers who did not like the fact that their sister was in love with a man they did not approve of.

According to Bangalore Mirror, the two who have been identified as Kasturi and Basavaraj, had eloped two months ago when the pressure was getting too much for them, but the woman's brothers traced them to the rented house they were living and killed them before fleeing the scene.

Kasturi was in love with Basavaraj for many years, but her parents had her married off to a much older man in Hubballi a few months ago.
Unhappy with the marriage, Kasturi returned to her parents' house within a few weeks and eloped with Basavaraj. Her parents traced her, counselled her and sent her back to her husband before she fled again, some two months ago.

This time, Kasturi and Basavaraj rented a house in Bengaluru. Basavaraj, a tailor, joined a garment outlet in the city.

Kasturi's brothers Hanumantharaya visited the couple at their home in Hesaraghatta. At around 7pm, they had dinner and slept. At midnight, Hanumantharaya allegedly stabbed the couple and killed them.
