The Chief of Army Staff, Major General Tukur Yusuf Buratai, recently ordered the Nigerian soldiers to take the war to Boko Haram terrorists in their hide-outs rather than wait for them to attack.

This he did while renaming their operation against insurgency to “Operaton Zaman Lafiya Dole. This directive has started yielding concrete results following the massive success of the Nigerian Army against the dreaded sect in another battle along Dikwa-Maiduguri Road in Borno State.

According to PRNigeria, Nigerian Army through an improvised attack involving the airforce and ground troops dealt Boko Haram a fatal blow. As they were fatally wiped out with limited escape routes.

Some of the items recovered from the terrorists included vehicles heavily laden with Improvised Explosives Devices (IEDs), motorcycles, trucks mounted with Anti-Aircraft Guns, Anti-Aircraft Gun, General Purpose Machine, Gunbox of Anti-Aircraft Gun Ammunition and Rifles.

The spokesperson of the Nigerian Army, Colonel Sani Usman Kukasheka also confirmed the massive success achieved by the army but didn't give a figure of the casualities.

He said due to recent concerted efforts, roads and towns hitherto being held by Boko Haram terrorists and laced with mines such as Biu-Buni Yadi-Damaturu and Biu-Sabon Gari-Damboa roads were liberated and cleared of mines and made safe for public usage.
