A thorough investigation conducted by the CCM reveals that PDP spent about N2.5 billion on adverts while the APC spent N728 million during the election period.
Reports coming from the Compliance and Content Monitoring Ltd (CCM), adverts for the presidential elections cost Nigeria’s major political parties a combined whopping sum of N3.23 billion.
CCM states that the Peoples Democratic Party spent about N2.5 billion on adverts while the All Progressives Congress spent N728 million.
The report reveals that the adverts in question were placed on radio, television, press and billboards between December 2014 and March 2015.
CCM based their findings on a thorough analysis of over 260 broadcast media (radio and television), 48 print (newspapers and magazines) media and over 1,000 outdoor billboards across the country.
The company’s Managing Director, Tunde Onadele also said that about 253 creative materials were deployed across radio and television channels in all the 260+ stations monitored by CCM, with PDP utilising 145 materials. APC deployed 107 materials.
