Governor Nasir El-Rufai Appoints Blind Man as Special Assistant

 

A press statement by Governor Nasir El-Rufai's media aide, Mr Samuel Aruwan on Thursday, 30th of July has revealed the governor's approval of the appointment of a blind man, Mallam Aliyu Muhammed Salisu as his Special Assistant on Persons with Disabilities.

 

This swift and commendable action by the Kaduna State governor may not be unconnected with the threat by beggars in the state to bring down his government if her doesnt reverse the ban on begging in the State.

According to the statement, Salisu, who hails from Sabon Gari, Zaria, holds a Diploma in Special Education from the Kaduna Polytechnic and another Diploma in Guidance and Counselling from the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.

He is a member of the National Association of the Blind and has worked at the Kaduna State Rehabilitation Centre, the statement read.
