Man Blinds Wife's Eyes During Physical Assault in Lagos

The police at Ikotun division have arrested and charged a man before Ejigbo Magistrate court for allegedly beating his wife and blinding her in the process.

A Lagos-based man named Paul Uduozor is currently facing charges before the Ejigbo Magistrates' court in Lagos State for reportedly beating his wife, Faith, which has resulted to a loss of sight.
 
The incident took place at 6, Oloro street, off Akani street, Abaranje, Ikotun, where they reside. The issue was reported to the police, leading to the subsequent arrest of Paul after which he was charged to court. He is currently being charged for assault and damages under the criminal code.
 
Neighbours reported a history of fracas between the estranged couple as Faith once fainted and was rushed to the hospital at one point following some heavy blows dealt on her by her husband.

According to P.M News, he pleaded not guilty and the prosecutor, Mr Femi Adeleye, objected to his bail on the ground that Faith will be undergoing operation which could result in more complications.

He prayed the court to remand Paul in prison custody pending the outcome of the operation. However, the presiding Magistrate, Mr A. A. Fashola granted him bail in the sum of N250,000 with two sureties in like sum.
 
Uduozor was remanded in prison custody at Kirikiri pending when he will perfect his bail. The matter was adjourned till 31 August, 2015.
